MY MOTIVATION

The dogs and their trusting owners are at the heart of why I had to reveal this to the world. It is the voiceless dogs and their owners who implicitly trusted Mick and Kane who have been taken advantage of relentlessly and I find that intolerable.

I worked for The London Dog Walking Company between May 2019 and November 2022. Between August 2020 and November 2022 I was full time, working 5 days a week, 9 hours a day, 45 hours a week working as a walker, driver and daycare person. My duties, as directed by Mick as the owner of the company and Kane Doran, my line manager was to do several pack dog walks a day, drive for up to 4 hours a day collecting, walking and dropping home up to 25 dogs. I was instructed never to tell anyone where the daycare premises was and certainly not to invite any customer to see it. For the brief periods Mick and Kane were at daycare each day they would shout at the dogs, kick the doors and rattle a tin of loose change in order to get dogs to be quiet. Noise of any kind was not to be tolerated in these small rooms full of dogs and interaction was not allowed as Mick believed this made the dogs “needy”.

When I began this full time job in 2020 the job was massively different to what it gradually became. What began as 20-30 dogs between myself and Mick and a few walkers became 40-50 dogs by November 2022. What was 2 walks a day with an hour or two at daycare became 3-4 walks a day (with 6 or more walkers not know to the owners) with little time at daycare, several late afternoon van journeys to take dogs to go for toilet break (as there was no outdoor space at daycare) and I was asked often do all of Kane Dorans work as he was “busy flying around”.

Mick and Kane normalised the idea that Kane could go to sleep at midday for an hour or two each day either on the sofa or in his van whilst I was expected to keep working. Where once I was driving for up to 2 hours a day, by the summer of 2022 I was driving for 4 hours a day collecting 25 plus dogs myself & doing all the expected duties as part of that incredible expansion of numbers. These changes happened incrementally over the 3.5 years I worked for them and by November 2022 the job bore no relation to the one that I’d started. The stress became overwhelming and I was hospitalised regularly for stress related illnesses. I had to pretend to be happy as Mick would criticise me often for being “so negative” not realising it was him and the insane workload that was causing my unhappiness. I ended up having NHS counselling over Zoom in order to deal with the despair it was all causing me. Mick and Kanes jobs were far simpler from mine as they only did 30-40 min walks and Kane didn’t even do his so-called ‘pee and poo walks’ but just took dogs straight home or asked me to do his so it could be ‘seen as being done’. This is a job that took a long time as it involved taking 4 dogs from daycare in a vehicle to a local park and wait until they would wee or poo, due to the large numbers of dogs at daycare this could take an hour or more on top of the dogs I was due to drop home.

When Mick and his wife Dawn went on Holiday in 2022 Kane stayed at their house in Dartmouth park. This is where he spent most of his day and would message me every day for 2 weeks asking me to do all his ‘pee and poo walks’ for the dogs he was later driving home as he was “too busy flying around”. On one of those days I asked a friend to go and see if he was indeed too busy to do his job and as predicted the van was parked outside his dads house at the same time it would be at daycare where Kane would sleep. 

I was taken advantage of time and time again and treated with contempt but I somehow managed to put up with it for years, even crying and having my first ever panic attacks before going into work. Mick was abusive and swore at me for trying and failing to repair my work van on what turned out to be my last day in November 2022 and I’d had enough. Had enough of seeing the good faith of customers believing their dogs were to be walked for an hour then taken to a fit for purpose daycare facility, which was far from the truth. I’d had enough of Dawns reputation and shining personality and creator of the dog walking business being the reason Mick and Kane were able to exploit that by putting dogs in harms way by having up to 50 dogs in a day for no other reason than profit. I’d had enough of manipulation by telling customers walks would be cut short during hot weather only to be taken to a daycare room that was 35 degrees C.  Customers lied to about licence and insurance status of the business yet willing to offer their services to the rich and famous.

And for any naysayers out there. What is better, to have seen their wrongdoings and leaving after a couple of months with no evidence or awareness of this being a long term issue, or leaving after 3.5 years with a detailed knowledge of what they do & all the evidence I amassed?

Having run several anonymous polls on Facebook and Twitter on what would be be the right move in this situation, en mass (with hundreds of votes) the public agreed with the idea of holding a company like this to account and this is exactly what I am doing.

There is a reason I continue to work in this industry where Kane has had to run away and hide. My passion for dog walking was why I started working for them and they almost drilled that out of me but my passion is clear and anyone who loves dogs cannot work for a company like this.

THE CONTINUATION OF ILLEGAL DAYCARE

In April 2023 I was made aware that The London Dog Walking Company had decided to open a new illegal and unlicensed dog daycare premises from the Islington council house of their daycare staff member, Natasha Clark. This would have her evicted from her house if found out by the council as dog daycares of any kind are not permitted to council tenants, especially those on benefits but Mick obviously isn’t worried about that as he continues to exploit his vulnerable workers. Mick neglected to add this address to his business page and customers were not made aware of where their dogs were being taken.

LEGAL CHALLANGE

Mr Doran has used a solicitor to send a threatening ‘Letter Before Action’ demanding I close down this website and retract every allegation I have made despite there being irrefutable proof. In my opinion this is a total waste of his time and money and after I replied with a counter-claim for defamation (Mick writing on Nextdoor.co.uk with baseless accusations about me) no further action has been taken, again bolstering my claims further.

MY COUNTER CLAIM FOR DEFAMATION

Below pictured is the evidence I sent to Mick’s solicitor as the basis for my defamation counter claim. It’s littered with untruths and is highly damaging to my reputation. These accusations are in-keeping with what he tells a lot of his supporters but has no basis in truth. Mick uses the word ‘abuse’ more than once and I have never used that word in relation to his treatment of dogs so this is highly damaging. The “problem” with heat Mick refers to had been going on for years. The photos I have shows regarding heat where taken over several months as can be seen from the time stamps on the photos. Mick has admitted that room was “very hot” and as can be seen in the photos there are multiple dogs there including Bella the 14 week old puppy in 31 degree heat. This is unacceptable. The domestic air conditioning unit did not solve the problem as the outlet pipe was sellotaped to the letterbox and ultimately failed in its purpose leaving the room still in excess of 26 degrees. Whilst Mick was ill and at daycare less over a 5 month period he was still running the business and organising the diary and Dawn and Kane were very much present and in charge of daycare. The video Mick refers to with a dog being mounted is clearly filmed from starting position in a separate room, ultimately discovering the dog being mounted. This was to highlight to incredible amount of dogs we had at daycare, which was ultimately Mick’s decision to agree to take on this amount of dogs each day. He mentions reporting me to the police but as my Crime Reference Number clearly shows (Crime Ref:2301886/23) I reported him first in January 2023. This is the first crime ref between either of us and refers to Mick calling me a “Dirty scumbag cunt” from his vehicle outside Never Forever bar on Highgate Road NW5 on the 20th of January 2023 at 10am. He has accused me on multiple occasions of taking his customers. Any customers I have that may be formerly LDWC dogs those customers decided to have their dog continue walking with me post my departure from LDWC. There was no contract for dogs to stay with Mick’s company so to use the words “take my customers” is defamatory. He has also claimed this site is used to divert traffic to my dog walking page but there is simply no evidence of this. This page is used purely for the public interest to make an informed decision on soliciting the services of his company. To say I was at daycare for 4 hours a day is an extreme lie. I was walking dogs for around 3 hours a day and driving for around 4hours a day, easily provable with daily diary pictures. I was at daycare for approximately an hour a day by the end of 2022.

POLICE INVOLVEMENT

I have been accused by Mick Doran of ‘going around filming him‘. Between January 2023 and March 2024 I have had to contact the Metropolitan Police on numerous occasions due to Mick Doran shouting at me from his vehicle, swearing at me and intimidating to me in public and using dog walkers Whatsapp groups to slander me. It is purely for my own protection that I am ready to record when I see him as I walk down the street. He continues to refuse to act within the law and it is for these reasons he has been contacted by the Metropolitan Police several times and in March 2024 was asked to attend a police station for a voluntary interview. (Crime Ref No. 2301886/23 and second crime reference number 01/46183/24)

11th November 2022 I resign after 3.5 years after Mick Doran of LDWC LTD threw a set of keys at me after I tried helping fix his broken vehicle and accused me of ringing him hundreds of times (3 times) when I was at the garage trying to repair his van, all whilst Mick was busy running his other business (a coffee kiosk) and was too busy to take my calls.

13th of November 2022 Post my departure, Mick forgets to collect a customers dog. I had walked that dog for years and so that owner then rang me and chose to have me walk that dog going forward. This happened with one other dog also. Mick has spent years saying I stole his dogs but there is no truth in that, the customer chooses who walks their dogs.

14th November Mick Whatsapps me a cease and desist from Emma Cass phone after finding out I’d messaged a customer with details of owners being shortchanged with short dog walks. (Emma Cass who temporarily worked for LDWC LTD who was charged with manslaughter in 2019)

November – December 2022 I find out from talking with LDWC customers that Mick had been telling people that he fired me rather than me resigning. This was upsetting and slanderous.

November 2022 I find out that LDWC was not a licensed daycare premises and it was suggested by a fellow daycare operator that I go to the press to highlight the problems I had documented during my time there.

During this time I started writing an account of my time at LDWC and all the issues that were placing dogs in danger and customers being misinformed about the safety of their dogs.

23rd December 2022 The Sunday People ran a story on LDWC. This was a print only article so I decided to post the article to a permanent online site and so I purchased a freely available domain and published my story the same day.

At this point Mick’s daycare was forced to close. He then lost many customers due to the closure of his daycare.

January 2023 Mick stopped his vehicle on Highgate Road when I was walking a dog and shouted “Dirty Scumbag Cunt” and sped off and this was the first time I contacted the police and was the first crime reference number issued against Mick.

February 2023 Two local newspapers print stories about the closure of LDWC.

As my dog walking business gathered pace I start hearing from other walkers that there has been a description of a mad dog walker going around trying to close down dog walking companies. This is when rumours are then spread through the Hampstead Dog Walkers WhatsApp group where Mick incited mob retaliation by posting about me where then many dog walkers turned on me, ultimately leading to removal from the group and the start of a period of extreme hate from dog walkers that later culminates in an insane collaborative campaign.

April 2023 LDWC was caught operating an illegal daycare facility from the council home of their former daycare premises staff member; Natasha Clark. Natasha was warned by the council with a home visit. 

Spring and Summer of 2023 Mick issued a civil and legal challenge against me, one through a solicitor for defamation and another through a dispute resolution service to take control of a domain I owned. During this dispute I offered the chance to have a mediation service  to Mick Doran and he refused. He later lost that dispute and did not pursue with the legal challenge after I threatened to counter claim for defamation.

December 2023 I was invited to a dog walkers Christmas party with many professional dog walkers. Thinking I was just going to a xmas party upon arrival I was inundated with questions about my motivation for calling LDWC out. I had no idea my name had been defamed this widely. I later found out that the 30 or so guests had wondered why I was there and were not happy that I was. Ultimately this group of dog walkers have become part of a business family of dog walkers I meet with regularly.

January 2024 I purchased a vehicle to expand my dog walking business. Instantly Mick reached out to customers to prevent me from accessing them and removed me from a group that had dogs in it to prevent me from collecting from further afield.

Upon purchasing the van I had a vehicle wrap printed on the vehicle and this featured the details of my dog walking licence and Hampstead Heath Logo. One day after having this added to my vehicle I received an email from The Hampstead Constabulary Police who told me I had to remove these details due to copyright infringement. The evidence they sent me of the van having the logo on was lifted from an Instagram story. The Constabulary were sent this from an anonymous source.  During this period I was also telephoned by The Hampstead Constabulary who offered me a meeting in the park to “talk about these rumours”. This felt odd and not in line with policing as I know it so I then reported the Constabulary and attended The Guildhall in the City of London for a level 3 complaint. As a result the constabulary were told that copy-write infringement was outside of their scope and duties and they were not to call members of the public from personal mobile phones.

January 2024 All admins of the Hampstead Heath Dog Walkers WhatsApp group were changed from all members having admin duties to just a few, those few being illegal daycare operator Mick Doran, Heat stroke in dogs enthusiast; Ryan Dalton and fake followers and bots account dog walker Charli Honnor. Within hours of admin roles being changed I was removed from the group.

February 2024 After two years of existence my Google business page is removed by Google following a mass report of the page. I quickly set up a new one and appealed the removal of the old one. In setting ups the new page I had to get my customers to resubmit their reviews. Upon successfully getting them to do this their reviews started being reported en mass and removed by Google. There are still reviews missing from long term customers. My appeal was successful and as a result there are now two Google business pages with double the amount of reviews as there were originally with just one page. 

March 2024 Mick Doran was brought in for questioning by The Metropolitan Police after I reported multiple cases of harassment. He was later released without charge but tellingly he did bring a solicitor to the police station and went on a next-door.co.uk rant relating to this claiming the interview claiming it was totally voluntary and of his choosing which is obviously not how voluntary interviews work, otherwise known as Caution plus 3.

March 2024 I was nominated for an Animal Star award for pet services. An insignificant award with no real credibility but upon announcing this on my Instagram the organiser of the awards were contacted by someone who claims I wasn’t allowed to walk dogs on Hampstead Heath and that I didn’t have a license. As the awards didn’t have a process for such a situation I opted to remove myself as a nominee despite having being a licensed and reputable dog walker.

April 2025 I received a letter to my home address littered with expletives, using the word cunt 5 times along with various other swearwords and a threatening tone whereby they said the authors of the letter are “always watching me”. I reported this to the police and this was collected in an evidence bag along with ID card that was made with my face on it where it also called me a cunt. In the months prior to receiving this letter I had received contact from Charli Honnor all of a sudden wanting to be my friend, despite removing me from the Hampstead Dog Walkers WhatsApp group without apology and claiming to not know who Mick or The London Dog Walking Company were. Her mission was to get written evidence of me saying that I was to investigate, look into or even go undercover at various dog businesses in order to add this to the letter to create the idea that my motivation in life is to close down all dog walking businesses. An idea started by Mick Doran back in 2022. She would contact me every once in a while saying things like you should go undercover at… or theres a dog walker who hits dogs in Regents Park ,you should look into. The baiting failed and in June this year Charli Honnor, Ryan Dalton, Kathleen Cranham, Emma Grove and various others revealed their connection to the letter after I called these people out on Instagram, forcing them to act. Emma Grove of Dog Days Walking admitting to writing the letter and Malina of Canineteen Dogs admitting that it had been a group effort and the letter was shared in a WhatsApp group of dog walkers. I updated the police report with this information. Emma Grove has now fallen silent and is not responding to emails or calls despite having a recorded phone call of her admittance and emails to the same effect.

August 2025 An instagram account is set up called chriswillsherwhistleblowers which is a hate account whereby my Twitter and Instagram accounts are stalked and reposted with an out of context caption. The account has followed all of my followers and been in contact with my customers. I forewarned my customers of this type of activity a long time ago and my business is unaffected but as the account is run by The London Dog Walking Company and it’s former staff it is important to reveal that. The recent posts have been talking about my dead mother who was stabbed to death over 20 years ago and are using associated press cuttings to suggest I made money from her death which is, of course, entirely untrue. The author of the account is relentless in posting whatever comes to mind and is posting tweets from my Twitter account from 2011 in a odd way of trying to cancel me. The by-product of this is a huge upsurge in visits to my online accounts and more visibility to my pages which is maybe an unintended consequence of their actions but one I am enjoying very much. The more traffic driven to my page the more visibility on the platform, regardless of it being negative or positive. I reported this to the police and that is crime reference number 6 for Mick Doran and co.
